Receive "Successful" message when creating mailbox on Exch2003ent but mailbox is not created...
WhenI try to create a new mailbox for an existing user through Exchange tasks in ADU&CI get the successful message and everything looks normal. BUT whenI look at the user in ADUC there is no email address and there is no associated mailbox in the mailbox store. If you go back into Exchange tasks it gives the options you would expect to see if the user had a mailbox(move, etc.). Exchange is loaded on server 2003 Stnd SP2 and Exch2003 SP2 has also been installed. This server has been running for months with no issues. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks... Dave

Are you seeing the Exchange tabs on the users account? The recipient update service is responsible for stamping the email address on the users account so look in the event log for recipient update errors. As for the mailbox not being in Exchange that will not get created till the first message is sentto the user.

The Exchange tabs are on the User Account and there are no recipient update error messages in the error log. Thanks... Dave

Rebooting seemed to make this problem go away but i would still like to know what caused it. I expect it will come back again...
